happy ball

Take a black Sharpie marker and make a smiley face on one of your child's favorite balls. Create a game of affirmations. With every toss (or roll), say an affirmation, and have your child repeat it as they toss or roll the ball back to you. Suggestions include, "I am smart," "I am kind," "I am awesome," and "I care." Strike an equal balance between self-esteem builders and compassionate mantras. Once your child catches on ask them to be the lead.
