    stick writing

Go on a stick hunt in your neighborhood or at a local park. Assist your child with rounding up many different sized sticks and twigs. Return to your backyard with sticks and twigs you've collected, and use them to spell words (your name, love notes, messages etc.). Be creative. Have fun!

i am you, you are me

Go to your backyard or local park or playground. Follow your child around. Do as they do. See as they see. Be as they are. Then, share what you learned from them.

    hug a tree

Go out in your own yard or your local park and share with your child the benefits of trees. They give us shade, they are beautiful, they filter our air, and they give us oxygen. Explain that trees are alive. Encourage your child to hug a tree. If you hug a tree, it is more than likely that they will too. This is a simple way to express thanks and to show compassion for the earth.

    read a book

If it's nice enough, take a blanket or two with you outside. Snuggle with your child. Take time reading your child's favorite books together.
